Hashimpura Massacre

We all know about the Babri Mosque and the Lord Ram temple issue.
But there was another incident which happened and somehow this incident related to the Babri Mosque and the Lord Ram temple issue.

 Hashimpur Massacre,

This incident took place during the 1987 communal riots.
These communal riots were started due to the Babri Mosque and the Lord Ram temple issue.


On 22 May 1987, the total number of 50 young people were rounded up by the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) from the Hashimpura locality in Meerut city.

After that, these 50 people were taken to an outer area from the city in a truck.
45 people out of 50 were shot dead by the PAC, only 5 people, survived this heinous act of  PAC.

These 5 survivors who were also the eyewitness of this heinous crime, filed the FIR.  

Why the victims were taken to an isolated area instead of the Police Station.

Why these 45 young people were shot dead who were basically laborers and defenseless.



Finally, On 30th October 2018, The High Court of Delhi sentenced 16 former policemen to life imprisonment who were responsible for this heinous crime.

India's biggest custodial killing finally came to justice after 32 years.
