Madam Cama

A lady, socialist and a nationalist.
Sacrifices she made are the examples of bravery.

But it is not a good thing to say, we are not even aware of all the heroes, heroes who made sacrifices fought for independence, went to jail many times.

And we do not even know about them.
So at least know about someone who deserves to be known.


Madam Bhikaji Cama



Rustom Cama, the husband of Madam Cama was a well-known lawyer and also British supporter but on the other hand, Madam Cama was core nationalist at heart so the involvement of Madam Cama in the societal issues was not liked by her husband.

In October 1896, people were troubled with the bubonic plague and Madam Cama working on the field to fight this problem due to her relationship with Bombay Grant Medical College.

While helping people who were suffering from this plague, she was also contracted with plague and somehow she managed to survive but this plague illness made her very weak.

In 1905, she went to Paris and there she co-founded the Paris Society with Mr. Singh Revabhai Rana and Mr. Munchershah Burjorji Godrej.
Madam Cama also assisted Mr. Dadabhai Naoroji.

In 1909, when Damodar Savarkar was in custody, the British Government wanted to extradite Madam Cama to India but the French Government did not oblige.


In 1907, Madam Cama unfurled the flag of Indian Independence at the International Socialist Congress, held in Stuttgart, Germany.

Madam Cama wanted every Indian to salute the Flag.

Madam Cama, who wanted to see India as an Independent Nation and she did everything to make that possible as an activist.

Chagos Archipelago

The first question will come to your mind is what is the Chagos Archipelago. Let's simplify this, Archipelago word stands for a group of Islands or a chain of Islands. So the Chagos Archipelago is a group of seven atolls comprising more than 60 Islands in the Indian Ocean about 500 kilometers south of the Maldives. The Chagos Archipelago had been part of Mauritius since the 18th century. Before Mauritian independence in 1965, The United Kingdom split the Archipelago from the territory of Mauritius.
